This is sad, the government should step up and d something, offend someone

This one is all too true of what the eviromentalist would do if they could

When does helping your community cross the line without your consent? I'm not in the Weatherbug program, but just to give up my info (not the address yet) but just because they want seems a little to far for me.

Weatherbug info. to be shared with Homeland Security
Live information from the Weatherbug network is now going to be shared with Homeland Security officials to track atmospheric threats.
The goal of this program is "to provide guidance to first responders as to where toxic clouds might be moving," Bill Callahan, vice president of program management at AWS/Weatherbug.

"It could be a chemical biological, nuclear or otherwise type of plume released that they'll need to respond to," says Callahan.

The information will help Homeland Security "decide what population needs to be evacuated and where they can evacuate them to," he says.

Callahan say on the information taken from your Weatherbug site will be provided to the government. WeatherBug has a network of 8,000 stations that pinpoint weather conditions in neighborhoods around the country.

The network will not give out your address or contact information, only the longitude and latitude of your location is recorded.
